Our big home learning focus for Term 1 and 2 is reading! It is so important that children read and are read to daily. Please help to support your childs learning by encouraging them to read their book from school at home every night.
They will also at times bring home their poetry books and word/spelling lists. Try and find fun and interesting ways to practise these words. Some ideas can be: painting them with water on the concrete, making them out of playdough, writing them in chalk, or with a stick in the sand…… as well as any other ideas you have that motivate your child and help to support them on their learning journey!
We now have mathletics available for Year 1 students! This amazing programme costs $10 for a year and is a great support for what we are learning in class. If you are interested in getting mathletics, pay your $10 to Jenny in the office. Class time will be available for those who have paid. I also recommend that children have time to work on this programme at home.
